Job Details Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Registered Nurse / Travel RN Assignment Type: 13-week Travel Contract (Travel Nursing Assignment) Location: Hickory, North Carolina 28602 – Hickory, NC travel nursing jobs; North Carolina nursing jobs Unit: Emergency Department (ED / ER) Shift: Nights – 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); option to flex to 4x12s Hours per Week: 36 (flex option to 48) Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026) Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Minimum every other weekend and holidays as scheduled Openings: 2 Travel Nurse positions Patient Ratio: 4:1 EMR / Charting: Meditech experience preferred (Meditech EMR) Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (must be at least pending with ETA clearly stated) Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Department / ER RN experience required; 3 years preferred Previous travel nursing experience required (Travel Nurse / Travel RN) Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA) CPI/CIC certification preferred (can be obtained onsite if assignment extends beyond 3 months) COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled Clinical skills: triage, IV starts, phlebotomy, blood product administration, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, isolation precautions/PPE, emergency interventions Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ER / ED) Perform triage, rapid assessment, and emergency interventions for a wide range of acute conditions Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per orders; monitor patient response Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; initiate appropriate emergency protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams Document care accurately and timely in Meditech EMR (or similar systems) Follow infection control, PPE protocols, and ED safety guidelines Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during high-stress situations Why Join This Travel Nursing Opportunity Work as a Travel Registered Nurse in a busy, collaborative Emergency Department Experience Hickory, NC — outdoor recreation, arts, and a welcoming community near the Blue Ridge Mountains Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570-$1650/week (competitive travel nurse pay and travel benefits available) Apply now to join our healthcare team as an ER RN (Night Shift) in Hickory, NC.
