Details Work in a 21-bed Emergency Department, including 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms Patient population includes all ages, with common diagnoses including COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke Patient ratio is 1:5 Night shift schedule: 7P–7A Every other weekend required, with some holiday coverage Floating required on an as-needed basis No on-call requirements Primary EMR is Cerner 13-week contract Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB) — all AHA certifications must be in hand prior to start ADN or higher required Proficiency in emergency skills including trauma, resuscitation, IV placement, IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood product administration, and basic telemetry/EKG interpretation Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration Must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates Additional Information Psych/psychiatric ER experience is a plus Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible Orientation takes place weekly on Mondays Any color scrubs are acceptable; open-toed footwear, spandex pants, and sweatshirts are not permitted Ideal candidate is a fast-paced multitasker who thrives in a dynamic environment and works well as part of a team The facility is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center and an ACC-accredited Chest Pain Center with Advanced Heart Failure Accreditation American Traveler Job ID P-685910.
