Details Emergency Department at a Level 3 Trauma facility Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM 13-week contract Patient ratio of 4:1 Floating required On-call requirement: must be reachable a minimum of 2 hours prior to shift start EMR: MedHost (EDIS) Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license required Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC ENPC and NRP preferred Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience No certification may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Valid driver's license required No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with the NM Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, medication administration and monitoring, and detailed documentation of patient care Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical leadership in planning and delivering safe ED patient care Delegates patient care priorities based on staff education and experience; provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico; this process can take several weeks Scrubs: no specific color requirement — full uniform required RTO is limited to 1 request per 6-week schedule; requests must be for less than one week RTO blackout periods apply for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, dependent on department needs Blocked scheduling is not approved Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position American Traveler Job ID P-675194.
