Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - CVICU Job Details: • Work in a 16-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for certain device patients • Provide care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS • Perform advanced procedures such as central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubations on unit • Work with Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps • Document using Meditech system • Schedule requirements include 2 weekends per month, 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), and 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day) • Float as needed, typically to other ICUs but may include other floors • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS • Must have strong critical care experience including CVICU experience • Advanced skills required: PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring, preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT • Dress code: Black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs with scrub jackets/vests only • Support includes free floating charge nurse, unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-3:30 PM, and Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts Facility: This healthcare facility features a specialized 16-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit with 5 full-time surgeons performing high volume and advanced cardiac surgeries.
