Details Works in a 6-room cardiac cath lab within an acute care teaching hospital Serves adult patients with a daily census of 15–20 cases Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures Advanced procedures performed include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, CardioMEMS, thrombectomy, MitraClip, renal denervation, and research protocols Equipment used includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS Charting performed in Epic (experience required) Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:30am–6:00pm, plus call obligations Each clinician is expected to take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts per 6-week period One full weekend of call (Friday through Sunday) must be scheduled per 6-week cycle, with remaining weekday call shifts (Monday through Thursday) taken individually One Saturday elective case shift is also required per 6-week period Clinicians must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call One holiday shift or call rotation is required per 13-week contract Requirements Active RN license in Virginia (VA) or a compact license; Virginia will grant emergency authorization to travelers so they can work while a permanent VA license is processing Current certifications: BLS and ACLS Scrub experience in the cardiac cath lab is required Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and MitraClip Ability to scrub and circulate all interventional and structural heart procedures including TAVR, Watchman, MitraClip, TriClip, and transcatheter tricuspid and mitral valve replacements Experience with Epic/Cupid/Xper monitoring and hemodynamics Skilled in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols Experience with fluoroscopy in a cath lab setting Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management Two professional references required for consideration PDF copies of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration Additional Information This is a nationally accredited cardiac cath lab with American College of Cardiology accreditation for PCI procedures, operating within a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, certified stroke center with over 700 licensed beds The cath lab is supported by a multidisciplinary team with adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Local candidates are not accepted; a radius requirement applies to this position All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-686354.
