Details 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit (Phippen 6/7), also serving as overflow for other medical patients Patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, and general medical overflow Day/Eve shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, may increase to 1:5; Night shift ratio is 1:5 or 1:6 Day rotators may be assigned to 7a–7p, 11a–11p, or 7p–7a shifts; rotation frequency is low Every other weekend (EOW) required 36 hours per week Floating to applicable units is required when requested Charting system: Epic 13-week contract Requirements Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses are not accepted BLS certification required — AHA only (Red Cross not accepted at this facility) ACLS certification preferred — AHA only Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required Neuro assessment skills and telemetry competency required Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips 2 professional references required for consideration Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted Additional Information Provide nursing care to orthopedic, neurological, surgical, and general medical overflow patients in a busy Med/Surg environment Time keeping system: UKG/Kronos Local candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply Parking is not validated at Boston-area locations; public transportation and paid public parking lots are available (rates typically $17–$22/day) American Traveler Job ID P-682621.
