Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Burn ICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 05/03/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: May 3, 2026 Length: 12 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Burn ICU (BICU) position in Indianapolis, IN, caring for adult and pediatric burn trauma patients on day shifts. Details Burn ICU unit caring for both adult and pediatric burn trauma patients Patient population includes injuries such as flame, scald, electrical, and chemical burns, inhalation injuries, necrotic ischemia, and necrotizing fasciitis throughout the continuum of care Primary RN care model with a 1:2 ratio for critical care patients 1:1 nursing care support provided for burn trauma code 1 admissions and high acuity and post-operative patients Procedures include invasive hemodynamic monitoring (at minimum Q1hr), IV drip titration, nurse-driven burn fluid resuscitation following the Parkland formula, ventilator management, CVVH, Q1hr pulse and flap doppler checks, initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, and epidural pump management Day shift: 07:00–19:30 12-week contract Requirements Active RN license in Indiana or a valid Compact RN license required Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all must be AHA-issued NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (Group A updated yearly; Groups B–F updated every 2 years) Experience with burn ICU, surgical ICU, or high-acuity critical care nursing Proficiency with invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and CVVH Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address Two professional references required for consideration Copy of Driver's License required for consideration Full Social Security Number and full date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to adult and pediatric burn trauma patients across the full continuum of care Local candidates are eligible to apply; however, candidates residing within the facility's radius may be subject to a reduced pay rate — contact your recruiter for details COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position American Traveler Job ID P-684584.
