Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Acute Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/13/2026 Duration: 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule FT day/night variable shift (3x12s) scheduled as needed, including every other weekend and holiday, plus 2 On-Call shifts per 4 weeks. Job Description The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provides direct care, applies appropriate interventions, and evaluates patient progress. The ED RN utilizes various invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and interventions to manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations. Responsibilities Connects with patients and families during triage and assigns priority of care according to Triage Standards. Conducts primary assessments, detects deviations from norms, and identifies necessary steps for interventions. Encourages mutual trust and collaboration among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prepares patients and families for diagnostic procedures and teaches continued care post-emergency. Maintains awareness of patients' conditions throughout their Emergency Department visit. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (Must be AHA or RQI) Two years of acute hospital experience as an RN, with at least one year in an Emergency Department.
