Senior Product Manager, Internal AI

AssetMark Financial Holdings
Full-time
On-site
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
$142,000 - $158,000 USD yearly

Job Description:

AssetMark is a leading strategic provider of innovative investment and consulting solutions serving independent financial advisors. We provide investment, relationship, and practice management solutions that advisors use in helping clients achieve wealth, independence, and purpose.

The Opportunity

AssetMark is building an AI Tiger Team to transform how our 1,000+ employees work, driving productivity, scale, and employee experience across our organization. As Senior Product Manager, Internal AI, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, owning the strategy, deployment, and impact of AI tools that will reshape how our teams — from investment professionals to engineers — accomplish their work.

This is a hands-on, technical product role where you'll design and build AI agents, manage enterprise AI tools like Slack and desktop AI assistants, and drive adoption across every function. You'll be responsible for identifying and executing high-impact opportunities, measuring tangible results, and cultivating a culture of AI-enabled productivity throughout AssetMark.

The ideal candidate is both a technical builder and a change agent—someone who can code agents one day and drive creative adoption campaigns the next, all while inspiring employees to become citizen developers solving their own workflow challenges with AI.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the product roadmap and strategy for AssetMark's internal AI toolkit, including Slack AI, desktop AI assistants, and custom-built AI agents and tools

  • Source, evaluate, and prioritize AI opportunities across the organization—from operations to investment teams to engineers to corporate functions

  • Define product requirements and success metrics for AI initiatives, balancing business impact with technical feasibility

  • Maintain a roadmap view of AI investments, tracking aggregate impact and optimizing resource allocation

Hands-On Development & Implementation

  • Design, build, publish, and manage AI agents and automation tools using modern AI platforms and APIs

  • Partner closely with dedicated AI engineers on architecture and execution

  • Develop custom solutions for business users (operations, investment professionals, corporate functions) and technical teams (engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists, QA)

  • Implement and manage enterprise AI tools, ensuring optimal configuration, integration, and user experience

  • Work closely with Product Engineering and Data teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing workflows and systems

Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Develop and operate a comprehensive methodology to quantify AI impact, tracking metrics including hours saved, cost reductions, quality improvements, and employee satisfaction

  • Establish baseline measurements and continuous tracking systems for AI initiatives

  • Create dashboards and reporting mechanisms to communicate progress to leadership and stakeholders

  • Conduct regular ROI analysis to guide investment decisions and demonstrate business value

Adoption & Change Management

  • Drive organization-wide activation and adoption of AI tools across all departments and functions

  • Develop comprehensive training materials, documentation, and best practice guides tailored to different user personas

  • Establish and manage an "AI Champions" program, partnering with representatives in each function to drive local adoption and gather feedback

  • Create incentive structures and recognition programs to encourage AI experimentation and citizen development

  • Build self-service resources enabling employees to solve their own workflow challenges with AI tools

  • Measure and improve adoption rates, user satisfaction, and capability maturity across teams

  • Ensure employees use AI tools ethically, safely, and responsibly, in adherence with AssetMark’s AI governance framework.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with function leaders to identify pain points and high-value automation opportunities

  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure AI implementations meet enterprise standards

  • Work with HR and Learning & Development on training programs, internal communications, and change management initiatives

  • Engage with vendors and technology partners to evaluate and integrate best-in-class AI solutions

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Technical hands-on capability: Demonstrated ability to build and deploy AI agents, automation workflows, and integrations using tools like GPT APIs, LangChain, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms

  • Product management excellence: Proven track record of owning products end-to-end, from strategy through execution and measurement

  • Data-driven mindset: Strong analytical skills with experience establishing metrics frameworks and conducting ROI analysis

  • Change management expertise: Success driving adoption of new technologies across large, diverse organizations with varying technical sophistication

  • Communication and influence: Ability to translate complex AI concepts for non-technical audiences and build excitement around new capabilities

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: Comfortable with ambiguity, able to build programs from scratch, and willing to roll up sleeves to get things done

  • User empathy: Deep understanding of diverse user needs across technical and non-technical roles

  • Strategic thinking: Ability to balance quick wins with long-term transformation, prioritizing based on business impact

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on AI, automation, or internal tools

  • Hands-on technical experience building AI applications, agents, or automation workflows

  • Demonstrated success driving technology adoption and change management in enterprise environments

  • Experience working with diverse user groups, including technical teams (engineers, data scientists) and business users

  • Background in financial services, fintech, or wealth management is a plus but not required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree is a plus
