Facility Engineer - Summer 2026 Internship

Clean Harbors is North America' largest Environmental Company. We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our Summer 2026 internship program in El Dorado, AR. Responsibilities included but not limited to: 50% document control-data analysis, 25% Project Management assistance, 25% in the field. You will have a comprehensive training plan to ensure you will be getting a detailed and diverse understanding of various engineering and operational principles as well as environmental compliance. 

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the Environmental-Industrial Waste Management Industry, Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, and the mechanical integrity program.

• Wage: $25hr
• Housing: Not provided. 

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Mechanical Integrity Program

• Learn about corrosion mechanisms and participate in corrosion monitoring and mitigation activities

• Gain exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, including the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process, Management of Change (MOCs), Operating Procedures, Incident Investigation, and other elements of PSM

• Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving

• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including the pillars of Process Safety Management (PSM)

What does it take to work at Clean Harbors Company?

• Enrolled in a Bachelor Engineering Program (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Industrial) in your Junior, Senior years, or recent graduate preferred

• Proficiency in CAD or similar software for updating and modifying engineering drawings 

• Knowledge of P&IDs and piping ISOs preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Highly motivated and self-starter with the ability to work independently

• Proficient in MS Office Suite – Excel, Word and Outlook

• Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization written and verbally 

• Lift to 50lbs, climb ladders, stoop, bend, stand for prolonged periods, exposed to various weather conditions and work at heights
