How you’ll contribute 

An Assessment Lead who excels in this role:

  • Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow up activity.
  • Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer services skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner. 
  • Possesses clear knowledge of Emergency Detention Paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
  • Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all per-certification with insurance companies.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing for shift. Minimizes use of overtime. Assists in monitoring attendance.
  • Educates and coaches staff and acts as a point person for clinical decisions. Reports all issues and incidents to the director appropriately.
  • Ensures staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls and additional tasks prior to the end of the shift.

What we’re looking for  
Applicants should have a Master’s degree in social work or counseling. RN license may be used in place of master’s degree per state regulations. Additional requirements include:

  • Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.

  • Current unencumbered clinical social work or counseling license, RN license may be accepted. Valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own auto.

  • CPR and CPI certified within 30 days. May be required to work flexible hours and have the ability to meet typing keyboard expectations.
