Free Healthcare Job Posts or XML Job Feeds: Choose the Right RN Nation Service

By RN Nation Editorial Team ·

Healthcare hiring manager reviewing job postings on a laptop

A single nursing vacancy and a hospital system with dozens of openings need different posting workflows. RN Nation gives healthcare employers two practical options: free individual job posts and configured XML feed plans for ongoing, multi-job hiring.

Start with a free individual healthcare job post

If you are recruiting for one opening or prefer to manage each listing yourself, start with a free individual job post. Sign in or create an account, complete the job form and publish. Individual postings are free for 30 days; no paid XML plan is required.

This option can suit a clinic hiring an LPN, a home-health agency recruiting an RN, or a skilled-nursing facility seeking a CNA. The employer supplies the actual responsibilities, qualifications and application destination.

When an XML job feed makes more sense

Manual posting becomes repetitive when your team manages multiple facilities, specialties and shifts. An XML feed is a structured file that sends job information from your source system to RN Nation. Once a compatible feed is configured and activated, it can keep openings updated without your team re-entering every job.

For example, a healthcare group with 35 active openings could discuss the Growth plan rather than maintain 35 separate manual listings. Feed automation can reduce duplicate entry, while your team continues to own the accuracy of the source information and candidate follow-up.

Compare the XML feed plans

Plans are based on active openings and include both a one-time setup fee and a separate monthly subscription.

Review employer services and XML plans for the current options. A feed inquiry does not activate a connection or start a subscription.

What healthcare employers should include in a feed

Useful source data includes a stable job ID, specific title, description, employer, city and state, work arrangement, employment type, shift, compensation where available, application URL and expiration date.

  • Separate the role and setting: distinguish an ICU RN from an outpatient RN, and an LPN from a CNA.
  • Make the schedule clear: identify nights, weekends, PRN, on-call or rotating expectations.
  • Keep application links specific: send candidates to the correct opening rather than a general careers homepage.
  • Remove closed jobs: agree how filled, expired or deleted source listings will be handled.

Use our nursing job-posting checklist to prepare consistent information before publishing or importing.

How to set up your XML feed with RN Nation

  1. Share your requirements. Send your organization name, feed URL or sample, approximate active opening count and preferred plan.
  2. Review compatibility. We discuss source access, field mapping, required information and application links.
  3. Agree the operating details. Confirm refresh frequency, expiration handling, duplicate prevention, plan terms and who to contact when a source changes.
  4. Configure and check the connection. Review representative listings before relying on the feed for ongoing updates.

Automation starts after review, configuration and activation. The setup discussion establishes what the integration will support; it is not a promise that every ATS or XML format works without adjustment.

Choose the workflow that fits your hiring team

Use free individual posts when you have a small number of openings and can maintain them directly. Discuss XML when repeated posting and updates take time away from screening, interviews and candidate communication.

Whichever option you choose, a complete job description and a responsive hiring process still matter. Review our hiring-manager resources for practical tools.
